Adrian Belew - Confronting Creativity with Andre Cholmondeley
Adrian Belew is a legendary guitarist and multi-instrumentalist well-known for his diverse travels around the musical map. He first appeared on the guitar-world radar on tour with Frank Zappa, who later said, “Adrian reinvented electric guitar”.
Adrian's signature tones, and unique use of effects and whammy bar still remain unique and influential trademarks. Well known as the guitarist, songwriter and frontman for prog-rock pioneers King Crimson from 1981 to 2008, his first record with the band, DISCIPLINE, is listed among the most important rock records ever made.
Adrian has had a whirlwind career, still unfolding. From his first solo records LONE RHINO and TWANG BAR KING. He continues to this day to release recordings that push sonic boundaries while maintaining artistic integrity.
After countless world tours and albums with Zappa, Bowie, Talking Heads, Herbie Hancock, Laurie Anderson, Nine Inch Nails and Paul Simon, Belew has focused the past 15 years on world tours with his Power Trio, churning out solo albums from his studio outside Nashville. His new release ELEVATOR, his 25th original album, promises yet another chapter in experimental, guitar driven progressive power pop.
