The Synths & Gear of Eddie Jobson · The Gear Spotlight w/André Cholmondeley
Eddie Jobson needs little introduction here -- most of you know his work in the groundbreaking supergroup U.K. with John Wetton, Bill Bruford & Allan Holdsworth. The U.K. debut was a highwater mark colliding fusion, prog, electronic music and an audiophile approach to cutting edge new sounds, especially the brand new Yamaha CS-80.
Eddie's revolutionary work on keys, synths as well as violin stretch back to Curved Air, followed by Roxy Music (with whom he recently entered the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame), King Crimson, Frank Zappa, and Jethro Tull. After three legendary U.K. albums (the second lineup a trio w. Terry Bozzio & Wetton), Jobson then pivoted in the 80s to award winning soundtracks & solo albums.
A return to the live arena in 2009 with a new band UKZ was followed by a series of U.K. reunions with Wetton and an all star band. Jobson recently released a short "Piano Improvisations" video on YouTube. Here's hoping more of that soon.
